What Does a Commercial Building Inspector Look For?

We look for problems that cost you money after closing. That means roof leaks and worn spots, rooftop units that need repair, cracks or movement in the structure, and wiring, plumbing or heating and cooling problems.

Flat roofs are hard to see from the ground, so we fly a drone to get a clear look at them. See more drone photos from our inspections.

Our inspector, Jeff Wood, is an NC general contractor, so he knows how a building should have been put together. When something needs a closer look, we tell you who to call.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Much Does a Commercial Building Inspection Cost?

Commercial buildings vary a lot in size, age and systems, from a small office to a multi-unit rental, so a posted price wouldn’t be fair to you. Call or text 828-273-7662 with the address and the kind of building, and we’ll give you a free quote before we book.

What Inspections Are Needed When Buying a Commercial Property?

Start with ours. We check the roof, structure, electrical, plumbing, and heating and cooling, with drone photos of the roof where it helps. If something needs a closer look, like structural movement, we’ll tell you which engineer or contractor to bring in before you close.

Do You Inspect Apartment and Multi-unit Buildings?

Yes, we inspect multi-unit rentals as well as commercial buildings. Tell us how many units there are when you call, since that helps us price the job.

Who Does the Inspection?

Jeff Wood, our owner, does every commercial inspection himself. He’s an NC licensed home inspector (#2686) and an NC general contractor (#65998), so he looks at your building the way a builder would.
